Breaking News: A new playground for Russell Park!
After three years of false starts, nine months of community consultation, budgets sent into disarray by global conflicts, slow-moving negotiations with a million and one council departments, and a lot of quite literal sweat and tears, the Noel Park Big Local is very pleased to be able to share with the Noel Park community the news that our renovation of the junior playground in Russell Park is finally happening!
Working in partnership with Haringey Council, we have appointed a contractor who will deliver the wonderful co-produced plans we have for the junior playground. We will have brand new equipment, and by doubling the size of the playground, Noel Park children will benefit from a much larger and diverse play offer in the park.
In order to achieve this, the Noel park Big Local partnership has invested £400k of their overall funding from Local Trust, in addition to 36 months of hard work and graft to get us to this stage.
Work will commence on Monday 22nd of July 2024, and we are aiming to have completed the work by early November.
As our partners at the Council are currently under pre-election period, we haven’t been able to advertise this milestone as widely as we would have liked but it felt only right to share this info with our community for now. But look out for some bigger comms on this post-election.
In the meantime, as always, if you have any questions – feel free to drop me a line on [email protected]
